Switch to renewable sources of energy: MP Er Khatana

Pulwama, Aug 31: Member Parliament Rajya Sabha Er Gulam Ali Khatana on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and other development works in Pulwama at Circuit House, here. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, SSP Pulwama, ADDC Pulwama and other District and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
The meeting took the department-wise extensive review and stressed for enthusiasm and dedication amongst the officers and a problem-solving approach. The MP stressed switching over to renewable sources of energy and for exploring and utilising the religious tourism potential of the district.
The DC informed the chair that work on various development projects is going on speedily in the district to facilitate the general public and proper dissemination of information is also carried out regarding the benefits of renewable sources of energy and for developing tourism potential homestays have been developed.
SSP Pulwama apprised the chair that the war against drugs is going on in the district and the involvement of different departments has resulted in curbing this menace. He said the district administration of Pulwama not only has acted against drug peddlers but also focused on the rehabilitation of individuals.
CPO Pulwama apprised the chair of ongoing development projects of the district and the implementation status and progress under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS). He highlighted the achievements, special initiatives, and best practices of the District Administration under different schemes.
The Member Parliament appreciated the efforts of the District Administration headed by DC Pulwama for making significant improvements in social, economic and development indicators of the district. He asked all the officers to remain in touch with the people, pay regular visits and organise camps in all the remote and far-flung areas so that the people can avail maximum benefits of the schemes meant for the welfare of the people and act as a friend to the applicants with a problem-solving approach.
