A grade 8 student of Imperial Institution Nathipora in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla was left injured following an assault by a fellow classmate on Thursday afternoon, police said
The incident occurred after the culmination of eighth-grade examinations at a government high school in Tujjar area of Sopore where students of other schools were appearing for the exams.
A police official said that the victim, identified as Salib Ashraf, was reportedly hit on the head with a sharp-edged tool by his colleague, causing him to suffer head injuries.
“He was immediately rushed to the sub-district hospital in Sopore, where his condition is said to be stable,” he added
According to a police official, an investigation has been launched into the matter, and the police have taken cognizance of the incident.
