Status of works under District Jal Jeevan Mission reviewed at Kupwara

DC stresses for adhering to deadlines for completion of projects

Kupwara, Oct 22: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Tuesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the status of various works under District Jal Jeevan Mission (DJJM) in district Kupwara.
Addressing the meeting, the DDC stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure completion of all ongoing works by adhering to the deadlines already fixed for completion of different water supply scheme projects. She enjoined upon them to work in tandem and maintain close communication among their departments for earlier removal of bottlenecks to ensure that the work on any project is not hindered.
During the meeting, it was informed that 251 works have been tendered in PHE Division Handwara, PHE Division Kupwara, SSD Tangdar and Ground Water Division. Out of these, 246 works have been allotted, of which 85 works have been completed so far and work is apace on the rest of the projects.
Regarding the status of Dug wells, it was informed that out of the 14 Dug Wells allotted in PHE Division Kupwara and PHE Division Handwara, 10 works stand completed. Besides, construction of 21 bore-wells has also been completed.
The DDC also took a detailed review of various works pertaining to the Rapid Sand Filtration Plant, Over Head Tanks, Pipe Network works and Electro-Mechanical Schemes. She also took review of the division wise Forest Clearance cases and directed the officers of the concerned departments to work in tandem and maintain close communication for earlier disposal of cases so that the work on the projects are not hindered.
Chief Education Officer Kupwara, CPO, Executive Engineers from PHE Division Kupwara/Handwara/Tangdar, R&B Division and other concerned attended the meeting.
