Baramulla, June 18: In a remarkable display of dedication to combat climate change and promote sustainable development, a young girl from Sopore, Mufferah Majeed Khuroo has caught the attention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha with her extraordinary project to build a solar panel and steam-powered boat.
LG lauded her efforts stating that such small steps can pave the way for significant changes in the journey towards sustainability.
During his monthly program ‘Awaam Ki Awaaz,’ Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha praised Mufferah’s commitment and directed the higher education department and the district administration of Baramulla to extend their support in realizing her dream.
Mufferah Majeed, an undergraduate student with a passion for Physics, hails from the Doabgah Sopore area in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
For the past one-and-a-half years, Mufferah has dedicated herself to this ambitious project, driven by her vision of harnessing the power of renewable energy to create something extraordinary.
The solar panel and steam-powered boat she is developing exemplify her innovative approach to sustainability and her determination to make a positive impact in combating climate change.
Highlighting the significance of renewable energy, Mufferah emphasized the potential it holds for a greener future.

Earlier while talking to Rising Kashmir, Mufferah expressed her long-standing dream of utilizing renewable energy sources to create a truly remarkable invention.
Mufferah expressed her gratitude to LG Manoj Sinha for the heartfelt appreciation she received.
Talking to Rising Kashmir Muffferah mentioned that she had almost given up on her project but was delighted to receive recognition, which she considered more valuable than financial assistance.
She emphasized that her innovative project required expensive equipment like large solar panels, steamers, and electronic gadgets, which she couldn’t afford at the moment.
However, she expressed her belief that with the assistance of the LG administration and district administration, she could achieve remarkable results.
Despite being a class 12th dropout, Mufferah acknowledged the unwavering support of her family, particularly her father and mother.
“The acknowledgment of my innovation by LG Manoj Sinha was the perfect Father’s Day gift for my dad,” she said.
She extended her gratitude to LG Manoj Sinha for this honour.
