Jammu, Apr 26: The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called a crucial meeting for all 28 of its MLAs on Sunday to discuss and finalise the party’s strategy ahead of a special Assembly session scheduled for Monday.
The Legislative Party meeting will take place at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, at 3 pm. All MLAs have been notified via WhatsApp and email to ensure their attendance.
Key party leaders, including the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma, BJP President of J&K Union Territory Sat Sharma, and the party’s General Secretaries are expected to participate in the discussions.
The one-day special Assembly session has been convened by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on April 28 at the request of the J&K government Cabinet, which met on April 23 under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to recommend this course of action following the tragic attack on tourists in Pahalgam that claimed 25 lives.
Party sources said the session will primarily focus on addressing the recent killings of these unarmed civilians and formulating a response to restore safety and security in the region.
