Ganderbal, Aug 19: Residents of Shutkari village, located in the popular tourist destination of Sonamarg in Ganderbal, have expressed their concerns over the deteriorating conditions of their access road and the lack of essential amenities.
Locals said the road leading to Shutkari village has been in a poor state for a long period and is causing inconvenience for them. They have called for immediate repairs to address this pressing issue.
In addition to road repairs, villagers are also facing challenges due to the absence of a proper playground for children. The lack of recreational facilities has left children without a safe and adequate space to play, they said.
Residents said the situation is compounded by the closure of the food safety department’s ration shop, which has forced residents to travel to Sonamarg to collect their rations.
They have appealed to the APCO company to take action on two fronts: the construction of a playground and the macadamisation of the access road. The opening of the Z-Mor Tunnel would significantly improve connectivity to the area, they said.
Residents have urged the district administration to intervene and address these critical issues promptly. They have sought immediate action to alleviate their daily hardships and enhance living conditions in their village.
