Social activist Sheikh Saba joins PDP

Srinagar, Oct 09: Social activist Sheikh Saba officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday in the presence of the party president Mehbooba Mufti.
Sheikh Saba, known for her unwavering commitment to social causes, expressed her profound admiration for the fierce and upright leadership of Mehbooba Mufti, the PDP said in a statement issued here, adding that Saba conveyed her motivation behind joining politics and dedicating herself to the PDP’s grassroots efforts.
According to the statement, Sheikh Saba said, “I have witnessed the transformative impact of Ms Mehbooba Mufti’s leadership on our region. Her dedication to the welfare of the people, especially women, and her unwavering stand on key issues have inspired me deeply. I believe that under her guidance, we can work towards a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir.”
Saba’s extensive work in the field of women’s empowerment and combating drug abuse among the young generation has earned her respect and recognition in the community, the party said, adding that her involvement in numerous initiatives aimed at uplifting women and educating youth about the dangers of substance abuse has positively impacted countless lives.
Welcoming Saba, Mehbooba Mufti, remarked, “We are happy to have Sheikh Saba join our party. Her dedication to social causes and the critical issue of drug abuse among our youth is worth appreciation.”
“This addition to the PDP’s ranks from diverse walks of life is expected to invigorate the party’s efforts in working towards a prosperous and harmonious Jammu and Kashmir, under the steadfast leadership of Mehbooba Mufti,” the party said.
