Ahmad Ayaz, a renowned social activist and national TV debater, has strongly criticized the administration for approving the establishment of the industrial estate at Zainakot in 1977-78 without a proper drainage system, despite significant investment in infrastructure.
Ayaz highlighted that the absence of a drainage system has led to industrial waste overflowing onto roads and infiltrating residential areas, causing considerable inconvenience and health hazards for the local community. He has called for an immediate stop to the waste discharge and demanded an inquiry into how such a large industrial estate was approved and set up without a drainage system.
“How was a large industrial estate like the one at Zainakot, established around 1977-78, approved without its own drainage system? The waste overflows onto roads and contaminates residential areas, causing significant inconvenience and health hazards for the community,” Ayaz questioned.
