Ganderbal, Feb 16: The snow clearance on 12 km Gagangeer-Sonamrag stretch of Srinagar-Leh highway has been completed, the officials said on Thursday.
An official from Border Roads Organisation (BRO) said that Gagangeer-Sonamarg road was closed last week following heavy snowfall and avalanches particularly at Hung area due to which the traffic on the highway was temporarily suspended by the administration.
He said that after weather improved BRO resumed snow clearance operation from Gagangeer side for which men and machines were pressed to work.
“However, no decision has been taken so far regarding the fresh traffic movement on the road,” he said.
