Srinagar, Dec 27: SKUAST-K kicked started ten days entrepreneurship and skill development training program on “Agripreneurship inn bee keeping for rural youth from December 24 at BSF headquarters here.
A statement issued here said that the Inaugural session of the Skill course being organised by KVK Srinagar in collaboration with 41Bn BSF and with technical assistance of RTPPCM Shalimar was graced by DIG BSF-(sector Srinagar) as chief guest and presided by Prof. Azmat Alam Khan , OSD to VC as the Guest of honour in august presence of CO 41BN Sanjai K Singh the co-host of the event along with team of BSF officers , experts from pollination Centre including Dr. Parveena Bano.
On the occasion, the display of KVK products was highlighted which attracted the attention of the dignitaries on the occasion. The event was attended by participating trainees, scientists of KVK Srinagar and amongst others by organising committee members and coordinator Dy. Co. Pawan K.Sharma moderated the event.
Head KVK Srinagar Prof. S. A. Simnani gave the outline of the course while Prof. A. A. Khan spoke about the benefits of bee keeping vis-a-vis pollination services rendered by bees for crops particularly the apple. DIG BSF re-iterated the BSF’s resolve to contribute towards societal development through civic action plan. Village Sarpanchs who were also the part of the programme thanked BSF and KVK for organising the programme and urged youth to take maximum advantage of the training and expertise of SKUAST-K scientists.
