Srinagar, Nov 26: The Institute of Business and Policy Research (IBPR) SKUAST-Kashmir inaugurated one week Management Development Programme (MDP) titled “Skill Training for Building Nano Enterprises in Kashmir”.
The programs were held in collaboration with Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial (AAAM) Degree College, Bemina, aims to instil enhance entrepreneurial skills and empower participants to establish and manage Nano enterprises in the Kashmir region.
The weeks program will focus on providing hands-on training, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to develop innovative business ideas, and fostering sustainable economic growth at the grassroots level. Through interactive workshops, expert-led sessions, and practical demonstrations, the MDP aims to build capacity, promote self-reliance, and support local communities in exploring entrepreneurial opportunities tailored to the region’s unique socio-economic context.
The inaugural event was honored by the presence of Prof. Yasmeen Farooq, Principal of AAAM Degree College, Bemina, as the Chief Guest, alongside faculty members from both SKUAST-Kashmir and AAAM College. She expressed her interest and satisfaction on building tie-up between SKUAST-Kashmir and her college for skilling college youth in formation of Nano Enterprises.
Dr. Omar Fayaz Khan, the Program Organizer, provided a detailed overview of the MDP, highlighting its focus on fostering entrepreneurial skills, promoting innovation, and enabling participants to establish Nano enterprises. He emphasized the program’s role in addressing socio-economic challenges in Kashmir by creating sustainable livelihoods and encouraging self-reliance. Dr. Khan also outlined the program’s structure, including interactive workshops, expert-led sessions, and practical training, and stressed the importance of academic-industry collaboration in bridging theory and practice.
Abdul Rouf Khan, CEO (VIKALP), shared valuable insights during the session, emphasizing the importance of innovative approaches in entrepreneurship. Drawing from his experiences, he inspired participants to adopt creative solutions to overcome challenges and build resilient businesses. His address resonated with the audience, encouraging them to view entrepreneurship as a powerful tool for community transformation.
Dr. Khalandar S, Assistant Professor at IBPR. Shared valuable insights on different governmental schemes aiming in promotion of Nano entrepreneurs in the state. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Ubair Nisar, Assistant Professor at IBPR, who extended his gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their active participation and involvement in the program.
