Srinagar, Nov 27: One week training programme on Enhanced Employable skills : sheep farming a profitable enterprise sponsored by Ministry of Micro, medium and small enterprise (MSME) ,Govt of India was successfully organized w.e.f 19th of this month and completed by Division of Animal Genetics and Breeding. SKUAST -K on 25th of November at Haripora , Ganderbal in collaboration with the Department of sheep husbandry Ganderbal.
The programme coordinator of the training Prof. Syed Shanaz informed around 27 Sheep breeders from district Ganderbal, block kangan participated in the programme during which scientists of Faculty of Vety. Sciences delivered comprehensive, informative and interactive lectures. Various issues regarding Health cover and feed fodder were addressed to by experts.
Prof. Shanaz highlighted the various events and activities carried out during the training. The need and importance of sheep farming based entrepreneurship in the present era with latest enhanced skills was highlighted in the training sessions with an objective to attract more and more unemployed youth towards the enterprise and how to make the sector more profitable. Earlier DSHO, Ganderbal Dr Haider at the inaugural function of the training briefed the farmers about various government schemes under RKVY, NLM , HADP and other centrally sponsored schemes for starting their enterprise. The Division is highly Thankful to MSME, GOI, Vice Chancellor, Director Planning SKUAST-k and Department of Sheep Husbandry for all the support.
