Srinagar, Dec 10: Two-days capacity building programme organized by SKUAST-Kashmir starts at Directorate of Agriculture, Lal Mandi DARS, Rangreth is organizing a two-day capacity building programme on “Enhancing Productivity of Rainfed Niches through Precision Oriented Research and Deployment” at the Directorate of Agriculture, Lal Mandi. The program was attended by 50 officers from the Department of Agriculture Kashmir from all the districts of Kashmir Division.
The Programme is being organized under HADP Project No. 15: Rainfed Area Development which aims to equip participants with innovative strategies and tools to enhance the productivity of rainfed niches through precision-oriented research and deployment.
Waheed Ur Rehman, The Deputy Director Agriculture, (Central), graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Zahida Rashid, Associate Professor, Dryland Agriculture Research Station, SKUAST-K, highlighted the objectives and importance of the training programme.
During his keynote address, the Chief Guest emphasized the critical role of research and innovation in achieving sustainable agricultural growth. A training manual was also released on the occasion to serve as a reference for the participants.
The technical sessions commenced with insightful lectures delivered by Prof. Akhlaq A Wani and Dr Raies A Bhat, who shared their expertise on precision-oriented strategies for rainfed agriculture.
