Katra, May 17: The Skill and Simulation Lab of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) – Medical College of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, inaugurated by Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB in the first week of April-2025 as per the directions of Chairman, SMVDSB Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Saturday launched its training programmes, underscoring the institution’s commitment to delivering industry-relevant skills and education.
The training sessions conducted from 10 am to 4 pm, focused on Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid. Participants included nursing, medical and paramedical staff from Community Health Centre (CHC), Katra as well as employees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. These sessions aimed to equip participants with life-saving skills and knowledge, enhancing their ability to respond to medical emergencies. The comprehensive training covered critical areas, ensuring participants were well-prepared to handle various situations effectively. These training sessions are being led by American Heart Association (AHA) certified instructors, complemented by experienced educators. This unique blend of expertise ensures that participants receive high-quality training, adhering to international standards. The AHA-certified instructors bring industry-recognized expertise, while the educators provide pedagogical support, creating a comprehensive learning experience. This collaboration enables trainees to develop critical skills, stay updated with the latest practices and excel in their chosen fields. The lab’s state-of-the-art facilities provide hands-on training, bridging the academia-industry gap and preparing trainees for the modern workforce. With expert faculty guiding practical sessions, the lab aims to enhance employability, foster entrepreneurship and nurture innovation, aligning with the institution’s mission to empower students and trainees for future challenges.
