Meanwhile, the Bhagwati Nagar markets are bustling with activity, experiencing an influx of devotees. Shopkeepers in the area expressed their delight at the substantial increase in business this year.
Ajay Anand, a shopkeeper from Bhagwati Nagar, remarked, “This year, there is undoubtedly a significant surge in Amarnath pilgrims compared to previous years. Every year, the business sees a slight uptick during the AmarnathYatra, but this year we are particularly pleased as the yatris freely traverse the base camp area, resulting in increased business compared to recent years.”
Enhanced security measures have been implemented in and around Bhagwati Nagar, with all entry and exit points sealed off and additional checkpoints established at various locations. Intense scrutiny and thorough checks are being conducted on individuals to ensure the safety and security of all involved.
