Srinagar, Mar 03: Continuing its all-round march of excellence, Islamia College of Science & Commerce, Srinagar has crossed yet another milestone and is joining the other premier Universities and Autonomous Institutions of the country to admit students on the basis of merit obtained in Common Universities Entrance Test-CUET-UG (2023) conducted by National   Testing Agency (NTA) for   various under graduate (UG/IPG) programs offered by the College for academic session 2023.
Earlier the College used to admit students to all its UG/IPG programmes based on the marks obtained in Class XII Board Exam, the switch over now to admission through CUET-UG will enable the College to upscale its admission for various UG programmes to get motivated students to pursue their chosen academic journey in their desired subject in the College and give a further flip to academic and research pursuits going on in the College.
Islamia College is currently onboard the National Testing Agency (NTA) to admit students on the basis of score in CUET-UG for the 20 UG/IPG programmers offered by the College in a specific Major to bechosen by a candidate. The domain subject to be tested for a program has been decided by the College and is mapped on the NTA.  The CUET tests Language, Domain-specific subject, General Aptitude and Reasoning Skills of a candidate and gives a common platform and equal opportunity to candidates to select the subject of their choice in their chosen College/ University.
In the interest of prospective admission seekers, the College has already issued a notice giving details about the test, the eligibility of candidates and the number of   under graduate programmes (UG/IPG) offered by College for academic session 2023 and is available on main page of Collegewebsite under Admissions 2023 New.
In its endeavor to put in place best of  academic and infrastructural ecosystem in the College for dissemination of quality education to our students, the switch over to admission through CUET-UG for academic session 2023is one more pioneering initiatives of the Collegelike Academic Leap 2020, wherein it introduced various Honors and IPG programmes, implemented ERP for automation of admission, examination and online student services in the College, launching of indigenous LMS and more important being the lead College in the UT of J&K to implement NEP-2020.
