Science, Technology& Innovation Council hosts Science Model Exhibition at GHSS Jaganoo

J&K Science, Technology and Innovation Council, Department of Science and Technology Udhampur, in collaboration with Government Hr. Sec School Jaganoo, on Wednesday organised a one day Science Model Exhibition on the theme “GREEN INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABLE FUTURE.”

The program was inaugurated by Geetu Bangotra, Chief Education Officer Udhampur who graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Darshan Kumar, Assistant Director Planning was the Guest of honour.

Students from different schools of complex HSS Jaganoo came up With their models escorted by their guide teachers. They beautifully explained the concepts of their models to the chief guest and other guests apart from judges throwing light on the importance of Green Energy for a sustainable future.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed on the importance of sustainability in the coming time and how science exhibitions help in igniting the minds of young children for creative works. She along with guest of honour and Principal HSS Jaganoo visited the different stalls of the Science Exhibition and interacted with the students. She also lauded the efforts by the Principal and staff of HSS Jaganoo for their hard work and dedication in the interest of school and students.

Earlier, Sushi Rani, Principal Govt. HSS Jaganoo welcomed the Chief Guest and other guests, participants from different institutions. In her welcome address She thanked the Chief Education Officer for her immense presence on the occasion and also gave a brief account of the school functioning for all round development of the students. She also thanked Shruti Khanna District Coordinator Department of Science & Technology for initiating the efforts of the department for organizing such events.

Kuldeep Gupta Lecturer Zoology, HSS Jaganoo coordinated the whole program under the supervision of Principal, Sushi Rani in coordination with Shruti Khanna, District Coordinator, Department of Science and Technology who brought the program to be executed.

Kuldeep Gupta gave a brief introduction of the program and spoke how Science exhibitions ultimately help in realising the skills of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication as per NEP 2020 and making teaching learning joyful and effective by actually relating the classroom teaching to real life situations.

The judgment team consisted of Renu Kotwal, Sr lecturer Physics, Boys HSS Udhampur, Rashpal Singh, Sr. Lecturer Zoology, HSS Garh Dhamma and Atul Kashyap Sr. Lecturer Botany, HSS Swena.

The winners in the exhibition were given cash prizes as a token of appreciation as first, second and third category and consolation prizes to the participating schools. Final vote of thanks was presented by Samsher Singh Sr Lecturer Physics and Vice Principal, HSS Jaganoo, who in his speech thanked all the guests and participants
