Kishtwar, May 11: After the devastating fire incident took place in the renowned religious Madrasa Siraj Ul Uloom at Chatroo Tehsil of Kishtwar, donations for the reconstruction of the madrasa took place in the Jama Masjid of Chatroo.
Vice Chairman of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Muhammad Saroori appealed to everyone to donate generously for the reconstruction of the madrasa. He explained the significance of donating in a madarsa as it’s a good deed and for the betterment of future generations.
Saroori also encouraged everyone during the collection of the donation as around Rs 40 lakh was collected on the occasion of Friday prayers. He requested the young people to help in cleaning the area of the incident so that the reconstruction would be easier for the architects.
“The services of expert architects will be hired for the construction of this madrasa and architects from Kashmir will come very soon and a map will be prepared by them,” he said, according to a statement issued here.
The DPAP leader said that the estimated budget of this project is around Rs 5-10 crores. He said it wouldn’t be difficult if everyone participated passionately in the donations.
The Imam of Jamia Masjid Chatroo also appealed to the people to come forward to donate more so that the construction of the madrasa can be done as soon as possible.
It was decided during the deliberations in the Jama Masjid on the eve of Nimaz-e-Jumma that the re-reconstruction would be done in a modern way to avoid such incidents in future.
