Baramulla, Sep 17: In a thrilling Night Exhibition Match held at Khushal Stadium Sopore, Sanctorum Institute showcased their soccer prowess by securing a 3-1 victory against Delhi Public School Srinagar.
This exciting match, organized by Sanctorum Institute, unfolded under the floodlights and drew thousands of spectators from across the town.
Shakir Ashraf, Managing Director Sanctorum Institutes Sopore said that the students participating in the match displayed remarkable sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and unwavering zeal.
“Every player exhibited outstanding skills on the field, leaving spectators eager for future fixtures,” he said.
He said that Sanctorum Institute has made significant strides in nurturing grassroots talent and has established the Sanctorum Football Club, a registered club under the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association.
“The Sanctorum team continues to enhance their game, with eight of their players recently representing the District Football Team in the U-17 and U-14 categories. They are now gearing up for the Reliance Youth Sports Football Championship (North Zone) scheduled to take place in Delhi and Chandigarh,” Shakir Ashraf said.
This match not only showcased the prowess of the players but also highlighted the growing enthusiasm for football in the Sopore.
Meanwhile speaking at the occasion, Hilal Ahmad-DSP DR Sopore said that the night match played at Sopore is itself a massive change.
“The participation of parents, especially mothers, at the night match in Sopore town is a significant change.”
“The youth of Sopore are now taking part in sports events because they believe that sports are the only way to rescue this generation from the drug menace,” he added.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of notable figures including Rayees Ahmad Mir-SDPO Sopore, Hilal Ahmad-DSP DR Sopore, Nisar Ahmad-SHO Sopore, Zia Ul Rehman- SHO Tarzoo Sopore, Annayat Ul Hajini-Chairperson SRM Welkin, Javid Ahmad Bhat-President Industrial Estate Sopore, Haji Abdul Ramzan Dar-Administrative Officer Sanctorum Institute, Mohd Ashraf-Patron Sanctorum Institute, along with civil society members and DFA Sopore President and Secretary, who graced the occasion.
They awarded prizes to both the winning and runner-up teams.
