Srinagar, Nov 05: People’s Conference president Sajad Gani Lone has submitted a notice for the adjournment of business in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly, seeking a discussion on the scrapping of Article 370, Article 35A and the downgrading of Jammu & Kashmir into a Union Territory, sources confirmed.
According to sources, Lone has requested the suspension of the regular agenda in order to hold a debate on the constitutional changes made by the BJP-led Union Government and their impact on the people of Jammu & Kashmir and the region’s federal structure.
The PC chief, who was arrested on the eve of the abrogation of Article 370, has been a vocal critic of the government’s actions and has been fighting the legal battle challenging these unilateral constitutional changes.
