Directs party to raise crucial issues in Assembly
Jammu, Feb 22: Ahead of the upcoming first budget session of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) convened a high-level meeting on Saturday evening to formulate and finalise the Bharatiya Janata Party’s strategy for the session.
Reliable sources informed Rising Kashmir that J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma and BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul were summoned by the RSS leadership for the crucial discussion.
The meeting was held at 7:30 pm at Keshav Bhawan, Jammu, the RSS headquarters in J&K. It was chaired by RSS Prant Pracharak Rupesh Kumar and attended by other senior RSS leaders.
Sources said the RSS leadership discussed various issues concerning the people of J&K with the BJP leaders, and said these should be raised effectively during the budget session.
“The RSS wants the BJP to vociferously raise issues of J&K, especially of Jammu region from where the BJP made almost a clean sweep,” they said.
Apart from legislative matters, discussions also covered the formation of BJP’s new organisational team in J&K. The RSS reportedly reviewed potential names for key leadership roles, which will soon be finalised by the party’s high command.
