Srinagar, June 30: Range Police Headquarters Srinagar, in collaboration with the Department of Students Welfare, University of Kashmir, Monday organised a seminar on the topic ‘Young India and the Ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’ commemorating his 150th birth anniversary under the Civic Action Programme at EMMRC auditorium, University of Kashmir.A statement issued here said that about 200 students from different colleges and other departments of the University attended the event, and 22 participants delivered speeches on the topic. The best five speakers were awarded cash rewards and certificates. The seminar witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Registrar, University of Kashmir, as the Chief Guest; Prof. Parvez Ahmad, Dean Students Welfare, University of Kashmir; Staff Officer to DIG CKR Srinagar, SP Peer Zahoor and SP Hazratbal Zone Srinagar, Hilal Khaliq, as Guests of Honour. Other guests who graced the event included Shahid Ali, Cultural Officer, University of Kashmir, ADO CKR Srinagar, DySP Mohammad Shafi, Private Secretary to DIG CKR Srinagar, DySP Showkat Ahmad, Inspector Irfan Nazir, and Inspector Rifat Jan. The Registrar, University of Kashmir, in his remarkable speech, emphasised the importance of the event in fostering Police-Public relationships and the adoption of the ideas of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. SP Hazratbal Zone Srinagar and the Staff Officer to DIG CKR Srinagar also highlighted the role of ‘The Iron Man of India’ in unifying the country. This initiative under the Civic Action Programme demonstrates the continued commitment of J&K Police towards community engagement and youth development through such events.
