Jammu, June 16: Former President of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Jammu, Rakesh Gupta, lauded Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, for securing a third consecutive victory as Member of Parliament from the Udhampur–Kathua–Doda constituency.
Gupta’s press statement emphasized the significance of Dr. Singh’s win against a formidable coalition in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, attributing the triumph to Dr. Singh’s vision, diligence, resolve, and unwavering commitment to the populace, as endorsed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Gupta expressed his heartfelt gratitude for Dr. Singh’s numerous contributions to the region, highlighting key projects such as the ₹190 crore Devika Project, Chenani-Nashri Tunnel, Vande Bharat Train, and the establishment of North India’s first Space Centre. He also noted the completion of infrastructural marvels like the Atal Setu Cable-Stayed Bridge, the Katra–Delhi Express Road Corridor, and the world’s highest rail bridge. Additionally, Gupta praised Dr. Singh’s role in advancing healthcare and education through initiatives like the AIIMS at Vijaypur, additional medical colleges, and the Mantalai International Yoga Centre cum Wellness Centre.
Gupta commended Dr. Singh’s dedication to economic development, citing the establishment of the First Industrial Biotech Park, the Solar Village at Palli, and the First Seed Processing Plant at Kathua. He acknowledged the minister’s efforts in cultural preservation with the GI certification for Basholi Paintings and the revival of historical projects such as the Shahpur Kandi Dam Project.
In his statement, Gupta welcomed Prime Minister Modi’s decision to include Dr. Singh in his Cabinet for a third term, highlighting it as a testament to Dr. Singh’s calibre, achievements, and dedication to national progress. Gupta asserted that this appointment sends a clear message, dispelling criticisms and reinforcing confidence in Dr. Singh’s continued contributions to the nation’s development.
Gupta concluded with optimism for the future, expressing his belief in Dr. Singh’s ability to achieve even greater milestones with his far-sighted vision and extensive knowledge, ensuring ongoing progress and prosperity for the region and the nation at large.
