Inspects healthcare facilities at CHC Chattergam, SDH Chadoora, calls for timely completion of degree college project
Budgam, Nov 05: Sakeena Masood, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, on Tuesday directed the doctors and paramedics to provide the best quality healthcare services to patients.
“Health is paramount for every individual. Therefore, we must provide quality healthcare services to the public, particularly in rural areas,” Masood said while interacting with the doctors and paramedical staff at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Chattergam in Budgam district.
The minister visited the area to take stock of healthcare facilities. She also inspected Government Degree College (GDC) Chadoora and reviewed its functioning. MLA Chadoora, Ali Mohammad Dar; MLA Beerwah, Dr Shafi Ahmad Wani; Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Director Health Services Kashmir, Director Colleges and other senior officers of line departments also accompanied her during the visit.
At CHC Chattergam, the minister evaluated the availability of medical services, infrastructure and staff strength. She took a round of CHC and inspected the general wards, the emergency ward and other units of the hospital. She directed the hospital administration to ensure the availability of all essential medicines, equipment as well as medical staff. “The CHC administration must follow the duty roster in letter and spirit so that the desired staff and doctors are available 24×7 to meet any exigency,” she said.
Masood interacted with patients and attendants at CHC and took feedback from them about the status of health care services being provided at the centre. She also interacted with locals who raised various issues and concerns. Sakina assured them that all of their genuine demands and issues will be redressed promptly.
Meanwhile, the minister inspected the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Chadoora and reviewed the hospital’s infrastructure, patient care services as well as emergency response mechanism.
Later, Sakeena Masood visited GDC Chadoora and reviewed its functioning. She inspected lecture halls, the library and other sections of the college. She interacted with the faculty members, staff and students to understand their concerns and suggestions for improving the college’s overall performance.
The minister stressed the importance of providing quality education, particularly in rural areas. She directed the college administration to focus on enhancing academic standards, improving infrastructure and promoting extracurricular activities.
The minister also inspected the proposed site of GDC Chadoora. She directed the officers of the executing agency to undertake the works at the earliest for the timely completion of this new project.
