Srinagar, Apr 12: Prof. Ravinder Rao on Friday delivered an expert talk on “Recent Advancement in Mechanical Engineering inline to Career ” at Department of Mechanical Engineering National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar.
The event was attended by Head Mechanical Department, Prof.AdnanQuoyum while Prof.Nazirs, Dr.Manoj Kumar, Dr Dinesh Kumar Rajendran, Dr Deepak Kumar Naik and other faculty members were also present during the talks.
In his message, Institute’s Director Prof. A Ravinder Nath appreciated the Mechanical department for organising such lectures. He said these sessions are aimed to expose students to a variety of topics beyond their vision.
“It provides a platform to interact and exchange ideas with eminent experts. It helps scholars, students to develop an all-round and nuanced view of career opportunities,” he said.
The event begins with a welcome address by Dr Dinesh Kumar Rajendran, Coordinator Torus- Mechanical Engineering Student Association and Alumni Cell.
Prof. Adnan HoD Mechanical delivered the Inaugural address of the session, and encouraged students to interact and use alumni connect for the growth and betterment.
Prof. Ravinder Rao is Alumnus of NIT Srinagar of batch 1978 to 83 graduated in mechanical engineering.
He played various roles as Dean, placement officer during his tenure in KL University Warangal.
In his key address, he said the job in core departments like Mechanical, Civil and Electrical is mainly based on skills and decision-making strategy.
He also added the major reason for finding Mechanical Engineers getting fitted to every company in managerial roles is because of subjects like Industrial Engineering, Operation Research that teaches core strategy of company management. The major decision-making strategy depends on variable criteria that are addressed by these concepts.
He also took away the student’s life relating to Maslov theory on need and satisfaction and method of decision making in most vulnerable situations.
Finally, he concluded the talk by empathising with students about the latest technology in line to AI and ML which is considered to be the game changer of 21st century.
A formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Manoj Kumar. He expressed gratitude to Prof.Ravinder Rao for delivering the expert talk and stated that the department will organize more such events in the future.
Empowering Youth Entrepreneurs: Startup Kashmir Magazine launched at NIT
Director National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, Prof. Ravinder Nath, who is also Vice Chancellor – Central University Kashmir launched ‘Startup Kashmir magazine’ on Friday.
The launch event witnessed the presence of enablers in the startup community, including Shahid Ansari, Founder and Chief Editor of Startup Kashmir Magazine, Shahid Mir, CEO of Greenovator Incubation Foundation (GIF).
Prof M F Wani, Prof. G A Harmain (Directors GIF) and Dr. Saad Parvez (PI GIF), Deputy Registrar (Accounts), Dean R&C, Prof Ruhi Naz, Nazia Nazir, Assistant Registrar (Special Secretary to Director), Shahid Hamid Najar, Dr. Sheikh Shahid Saleem, Prof.Najeeb-Ud-Din representing the academic community besides Prof Ravinder who also holds the additional charge as Director NIT Srinagar.
Kashmir Observer was represented by Nazir Ganaie, the organisation’s multimedia head.
