Kargil, Jan 02: Police arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for last 20 years in Kargil district of Ladakh Union Territory.
Police said that the individual was involved in case FIR No 42/2004 U/S 457, 380, 411 RPC of PS Kargil. “Despite efforts to locate and arrest the accused, the absconder managed to evade arrest for 20 years,” it said.
After a prolonged and meticulous efforts, Police station Kargil tracked down and located the absconder and with the assistance of a dedicated team from Police Station Drass, he was arrested for Boniyar, UT J&K. The individual was subsequently produced before the court for further legal proceedings. The arrest marks a significant achievement for the Kargil Police in their ongoing efforts to arrest the absconders.
