Handwara, July 02: In a proactive initiative to enhance professional capabilities of police personnel, Police in Handwara commenced a two-week training course on investigation and core investigative skills for Investigating Officers/Officials at the District Training Centre, DPL Handwara.As per a statement issued here, the training program was formally inaugurated by SSP Handwara Mushtaq Ahmed Chowdhury-JKPS, who addressed the participants and emphasized the importance of adopting modern and scientific methods in criminal investigation. He highlighted the critical role of professional investigative skills in ensuring justice, upholding the rule of law, and strengthening public trust in police functioning.The course is designed to cover key aspects of investigation including crime scene management, evidence collection and preservation, statement recording, charge-sheet preparation, use of forensic tools, and relevant legal provisions. Expert officers and subject matter specialists will conduct interactive sessions during the course. This initiative is part of the continuous capacity-building efforts of Handwara Police to keep its personnel updated with evolving investigative techniques and legal frameworks.
