Police Commemoration Day 2023: DGP sanctions 46 lakh for organising various events from 21st to 31st Oct

Srinagar, Oct 11: For organising various commemorative events in connection to the Police Commemoration Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and Police Flag Day Week-2023 with effect from 21st Oct to 31st Oct, 2023, the Director General of Police, J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 46 lakh in favour of all 23 District SSsP (including 03 Police District) of J&K.
Vide PHQ J&K Order No. 2852, rupees two lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 23 districts SSsP under Civic Action Programme 2023-24, for organizing various commemorative events in connection with the observance of Police Commemoration Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and Police Flag Day Week-2023. The date wise schedules for organising different activities/programmes were forwarded to all the districts.
These programmes will be held from 21st October (Police Commemoration Day) to 31st October (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) to highlight the martyrdom of Police personnel who laid down their lives in service to the nation and its citizens.
During the period various programmes including Police Commemoration Day functions at APC Zewan/Gulshan Ground & Rail Head Complex in Jammu and at all district headquarters, Sports events, exhibition highlighting contribution of Police Martyrs at all district hqrs, visit of Police officers to local villages/towns of martyrs, organising debate in schools/colleges on the theme ‘Role of Police in Nation Building’, organising Unity Run/cultural programmes, Police Band show at prominent public venues, honouring special achievers among siblings of Police martyrs, organising National Security seminars/lectures by eminent personalities and Ekta Diwas, mini marathons (Run for Unity) would be held in every district on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
