`Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police on Sunday have arrested drug peddler in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A Spokesperson said that a police party headed by SHO PS Baramulla during naka checking established at Stadium Colony Baramulla intercepted one person who tried to flee away but was apprehended tactfully, who was later identified as Mubashir Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Mohd resident of Najibhat Wagoora. During their search, officer was able to recover 250 grams of contraband Charas like substances. He has been arrested and shifted to police station Baramulla where he remains in custody.
“Accordingly, case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation have been initiated”, he said.
