Police apprehends 5 bovine smugglers, rescued 48 cattles in Udhampur

Udhampur Police apprehended five bovine smugglers, rescued 48 cattles and seized 05 vehicles used for bovine smuggling in past seven days.

A police spokesman said that a team of PS Rehambal apprehended one bovine smuggler namely Abdul Hamid S/O Bashir Ahmed R/O Chani Himat Jammu and rescued 04 bovines from his possesion. In this regard case FIR No. 289/2023 U/S 188IPC stand registered at PS Rehambal.

 

In another case of bovine smuggling, team of Police Station Udhampur apprehnded one bovine smuggler alongwith 12 bovines loaded in truck bearing registration no. PB13PB 0129 from Jakhani naka point, Udhampur.

 

 Accused person namely Danail Masih S/O Jagir Masih R/O Gurdaspur, Punjab got arrested. In this regard, FIR No. 573/2023 U/S 188 IPC stand registered in PS Udhampur.

 

While police team of PS Chenani apprehnded one bovine smuggler and rescued 26 bovines from his vehicle bearing registration no. JK02CL -1144. In this regards, case FIR No. 162/2023 U/S 188IPC stands registered at PS Chenani.

 

Similarly bovine smuggling bid foiled in PS Rehambal in which 04 bovines were rescued and vehicle bearing registration number JK02X 3758 seized. In this regards, case FIR No. 570/2023 U/S 188IPC stands registered at PS Rehambal.

 

“One more bovine smuggling case, in which 02 bovines were rescued from the cluthes of smuggler namely Mohd. Akhtar S/O Mohd. Farooq by the Police team of PS Udhampur. In this regards, case FIR No. 570/2023 U/S 188IPC stand registered at PS Udhampur,”

he added.
