Srinagar, Dec 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Government, as part of the Housing for All initiative under Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana (PMAY), has identified and approved 49,101 beneficiaries across all 78 cities and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the Union Territory, according to officials.
A senior official from the Housing and Urban Development Department revealed that under the PMAY Scheme, 47,431 dwelling units have been grounded, with 19,188 units completed by October 2023. Additionally, 47,259 houses have been geo-tagged by the department.
Covering 78 cities and ULBs in the Union Territory, this initiative aims to address housing needs comprehensively.
In the current fiscal year, against the targeted completion of 1,752 works by the end of 2023-24, a total of 429 works have been completed by the end of October 2023.
Under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), 80 projects out of the initially approved 83 have been successfully concluded by the end of October 2023. Utilizing Rs. 485.81 Crores in allocated funds, the remaining two ongoing projects are expected to be completed by March 2024.
