Gandhinagar, Oct 03: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Prime Minis-ter Narendra Modi has done the work of spreading the rites of cleanliness throughout the country. The Prime Minister has started a movement in the country to inculcate rituals and behaviour to keep streets, villages, towns and cities clean.
He added, “Two sons from Gujarat; Mahatma Gandhi and Prime Minister Nar-endra Modi have promised cleanliness to the country. For the first time after 70 years of independence, PM Modi has done the work of making an appeal for cleanliness and building toilets from the Red Fort, worrying about the health and life expectancy of the citizens. PM Modi is the second national leader after Gandhi to explain the basic need for cleanliness.”
Union Minister Amit Shah made this address on the occasion of launching and concluding various development projects of Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar in a public meeting organized at Bhadaj, Ahmedabad.
In the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a development works of Rs. 472 crores in Gandhinagar Constitu-ency and in Ahmedabad East and West Lok Sabha constituencies, a total of Rs. 447 crore development works were inaugurated.
At the beginning of Navratri, Union Minister Amit Shah has gifted Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar development projects worth Rs 919 crores. Ahmedabad re-ceived Rs. 447 crore development works while Gandhinagar will receive ap-proximately Rs. 472 crores of development work.
Union Minister Amit Shah thanked CM Patel and said that in the last five years Gandhinagar Lok Sabha Constituency has received a total of Rs 37,000 crores.
To implement all the development works recommended in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, the Gujarat government has allocated Rs. 23,951 crores and Rs 14,000 crore development works have been sanctioned by the central government, he added.
Shah mentioned the modern development of schools as ‘Smart School’ is the most important development project among these overall development works and said that the work of personality building is a work of great service to the country.
“Modern Nishal- Smart School has given confidence to poor, middle-class children along with knowledge and understanding. As a result of smart schools, the level of school education has gone up. Seeing children from poor homes talking about mathematics and science, drawing, and reciting proverbs, one is convinced that the future of India is bright,” he added.
The Minister congratulated Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Education Committee and teachers for making all the schools of Gandhinagar Constitu-ency ideal schools.
He also requested all the attendees to visit the smart schools run by the munic-ipality and see the education programs.
Shah called Navratri a festival of Sattva, Tattva and accumulation of energy and saluted Ahmedabad’s city goddess Adyashakti Shri Bhadrakali.
On this occasion, CM Bhupendra Patel wished everyone on the festival of Adyashakti and said that Home Minister Shah has given an opportunity to shine with the flame of development, like the Garba flame of Navratri.
The Chief Minister said that since PM Modi assumed the duty of serving the country, people are experiencing ‘ease of living’ in the country.
“The government has planned development activities keeping in mind the fu-ture needs of the cities. PM Modi has always tried not only to announce devel-opment works in the budget but also to raise the standard of living of the peo-ple,” he added.
The Chief Minister clearly said that the pair of PM Modi and Home Minister Shah is the driving force behind Surajya-good governance.
He said that the city is beyond the definition of taps, drains and roads and means gardens, sports complexes, libraries, CCTVs. The government has cre-ated smart cities by building integrated command control center, online gov-ernment facilities.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the renovated Tele-Rehabilitation Center and College of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology at Sola Hospital for speech therapy treatment through telephone by the Home Minister.
In this regard, he said that tele-rehabilitation center of Sola Civil for speech therapy will be a boon for people living in remote areas of Ahmedabad and suf-fering from speech-hearing difficulties and especially young children who have undergone cochlear implant operation.
The Chief Minister said about the opening of vegetable markets in Ahmeda-bad’s Gota, Chandlodia and Jodhpur wards that the small fairs selling vegeta-bles have found a way to self-sufficiency.
By building and inaugurating smart schools, anganwadis and reading halls for poor-middle class children, Shah highlighted the importance of knowledge in the celebration of power devotion, he said.
Amid the inauguration of the development works done by the Home Minister Amit Shah, the CM Patel expressed the belief that smart megacity will make Ahmedabad more convenient and popular, livable.
The Chief Minister called upon all to work together to build a developed Guja-rat to realize the vision of a developed India of PM Modi in the dying days of independence.
On this occasion,a total of 14 public works worth Rs 106 crores were e-launched, in which Rs. 53 crores solid waste project, Rs. 20 crore water project, Rs. 12 crore building project, Rs. 13 crore vegetable market, pink toilet, reading room, cattle pond shed project and Rs. 8 crores included pond and garden pro-jects.
Besides, Rs. 341 crores of various 74 public works were e-registered. In which Rs. 277 crore drainage project, Rs. 25 crore road project, Rs. 25 crore water project, Rs. 14 crores include vegetable market and party plot projects. (ANI)
