Srinagar, Feb 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir interacted with five beneficiaries of centrally sponsored schemes with discussion covered the effects of the schemes on their lives.
The PM praised the beneficiaries of the Centre’s key schemes in J&K and interacted with them to understand how these initiatives transformed lives in the Union Territory.
The PM Modi sought the support of women across the country, stating that he eyes on goal to make one crore women in India “lakhpati didis.”
During a public rally here at M A Stadium Jammu, PM Modi acknowledged Shaheena Begum, a post-graduate entrepreneur from Bandipora district for her exemplary role under the Deendayal Antyodaya scheme which has transformed lives of rural women in Kashmir. Shaheena credited the prime minister for changing their lives and expressed gratitude.
Praising Shaheena’s entrepreneurship, PM Modi commended her parents for educating her, saying that everything is possible under the Modi rule.
The interaction continued with the acknowledgment of Lal Mohammad from Poonch district, who successfully built a house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin.
PM Modi encouraged Kirti, the head of a self-help group (SHG) in Basohli, Kathua district, to utilize the loan scheme under the livelihood initiative. Kirti’s SHG, which bought three cows and repaid the loan, now has a cowshed which reflects the positive impact of such schemes on rural women.
Acknowledging the changes in women’s lives, Kirti credited the prime minister’s gifted schemes for this transformation.
Lauding Kirti’s contribution, PM Modi called for support from women across the country, expressing his desire to make one crore women in India “lakhpati didis.” Kirti pledged full support to Modi’s mission.
PM Modi also interacted with Riyaz Ahmed Kohli from Pulwama and Veena Parihar from Atholi (Paddar) in Kishtwar district, the first-time beneficiaries of Jal Jeevan Mission and PM Ujjwala schemes.
Kohli shared how their remote village got piped water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission after the abrogation of Article 370. He expressed gratitude, stating they are fortunate to talk to the PM.
