Jammu, July 06: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla on Saturday urged the party workers to expose what he termed as the misdeeds of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its “proxy” government in the union territory. He asserted that the upcoming assembly elections will be a “decisive moment” for the people to “rebuke BJP for its anti-people policies”.
“The BJP and its proxy government in Jammu and Kashmir have been exposed as the woes of the common masses compound with every passing day,” Bhalla said while addressing a worker’s convention at Bhour Camp in RS Pura, Jammu. He said the present regime has failed on multiple fronts, alleging that basic amenities like power and potable water are scarce, despite claims of progress.
He reminded the people that the “Congress has time and again proved how to provide good governance to the people by improving quality and capacity to deliver”.
“Instead of solving problems of the people, the BJP’s proxy government in J&K is shamelessly indulged in cheap publicity by presenting fake figures and statistics,” the Congress leader said. He challenged the recent statements of the J&K government regarding start-ups in Jammu and Kashmir.
Exhorting the party cadre to accelerate preparations for the coming assembly elections, Bhalla asserted that Congress is ready for polls at any time.“We are fully prepared for the assembly elections. With the support of the people, the Congress will expose BJP and its proxies in the coming days,” he said.
Seeking a decisive mandate to establish a “new system of justice and equality” in Jammu and Kashmir, Raman Bhalla said the Congress party is committed to providing “humane, efficient, transparent, accountable and corruption-free governance” to the people.
“With the support of the people, we want to restore dignity and honour of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, adding, “We call upon all stakeholders to join hands in working towards a prosperous, secure and democratic Jammu and Kashmir. The Congress Party will continue to advocate for policies that promote inclusive development, social justice, and a peaceful future for all residents of the region.”
