Srinagar, May 08: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) general secretary Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura on Monday said the party “will never betray” the people and will represent their aspirations.
Speaking during a meeting at the party headquarters here, Hanjura cautioned against the conspiracies which he said are being hatched to divide and rule. “There is strength in unity and those who conspire should be given a befitting reply,” he said.
He stressed upon the party members to ensure grassroots level reach-out to the people of central Kashmir. He also praised the PDP leaders for making efforts to strengthen the party and urged the workers to organise more programs in the future.
Lone asked all zonal presidents of central Kashmir to complete memberships by May 31.
On the occasion, PDP in-charge Habba Kadal Arif Laigaroo urged people to keep a tab on youth in their respective areas and work for the betterment of society. He expressed anguish over the prevailing circumstances in Kashmir and prayed for the return of long-lasting peace, a party statement issued here said.
Laigaroo urged the workers to work hard so that they can be winners in any future elections.
