Jammu, July 28: The Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir Chief Manish Sahni on Sunday announced the formation of the Jammu city unit.
The party in a statement issued here said that Rohan Malwal has been appointed as president, Munish Anand as vice-president, Deepak Sharma as secretary and Vishal Kumar as general secretary.
The party held a “Jan Chaupal” here where they listened to the concerns of local residents. During the event, around two dozen people joined the party, the statement said.
“Residents expressed deep concern and frustration over power and water cuts, rising electricity bills, and increasing criminal incidents in Jammu,” Sahni said in the statement. He said Jammu and Kashmir has rich water resources and hydropower projects, yet residents still face frequent power and water shortages.
He criticized the ongoing tradition of power cuts and promised that the Shiv Sena (UBT) would fight for the people’s right to free electricity and water.
The event also included the distribution of a “Vachan Nama/Sankalp Patra,” a pledge document based on the aspirations of the people, and an appeal for support in the upcoming elections.
The attendees expressed deep grief over a tragic accident at an academy in Rajindra Nagar, Delhi, which resulted in the death of three students, and conveyed their condolences to the affected families.
