PDP, PDF express condolence with GK Chief Editor

Srinagar, Jan 17: The leadership and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Manzoor Ahmad Baba, son of Late Assadullah Baba and nephew of Fayaz Kaloo, Editor-in-Chief of Greater Kashmir. Baba passed away on Friday due to a cardiac arrest at his residence in Nallabal Nowshehra, Srinagar.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, along with senior party leaders, extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, particularly his mother, wife, and two daughters, in this moment of immense grief. She prayed for the departed soul to be granted Jannat-ul-Firdous and for strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
The party also extended heartfelt condolences to Fayaz Kaloo on the tragic loss of his beloved nephew. Recognizing the deep bond between families, the PDP leadership acknowledged the grief of losing such a close family member and expressed solidarity with Fayaz Kaloo in this painful time.
“Fayaz Kaloo Sahib has always been a voice of resilience and integrity through his work in journalism, and we stand with him as he mourns this personal loss. Losing a nephew so suddenly is heartbreaking, and we pray for strength and patience for him and his family,” PDP leader Sartaj Madni said.
A delegation of senior party leaders led by Mohammad Sartaj Madni, Abdul Rehman Veeri, Abdul Haq Khan, Dr Mehboob Beg, Mohd Khursheed Alam, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Nayeem Akhter, Waheed Para, Fayaz Mir, Ali Mohd Naik, Aasiya Naqash, Anjum Fazili, Firdous Tak and others conveyed their condolences and expressed solidarity with both grieving families.
Similarly, People’s Democratic Front (PDF) chairman Hakeem Yaseen expressed his heartfelt condolences on the passing of Manzoor Ahmad Baba. He expressed condolence with Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, editor of The Mirror of Kashmir, Dr Farooq Ahmad Kaloo and Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, chief editor of Greater Kashmir. Manzoor is also the cousin of Mir Aijaz Ahmad, editor of Kashmir Canvas. In a statement, Yaseen prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and for strength and patience for the grieving family to endure this irreparable loss.
