PDF neutral in Sgr, supports Sajad Lone in Bla: Hakeem

Srinagar, May 07: Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister, on Tuesday clarified the party’s stance on the upcoming elections in the Srinagar Parliamentary constituency. He, however, expressed the party’s full support for Sajad Gani Lone, the People’s Conference (PC) candidate for the Baramulla constituency.
In a statement issued here, Yaseen affirmed that the PDF does not have a candidate in the Srinagar constituency, nor has it decided to endorse any specific candidate in the fray for the Srinagar constituency. He urged the people to exercise their franchise in favour of any candidate of their choice in Srinagar.
“The PDF has no candidate of its own in the Srinagar Parliamentary constituency. The party has chosen not to support any particular candidate in the Srinagar constituency,” he said.
Hakeem said voting is a democratic right and encouraged people, particularly PDF members, to actively participate in the electoral process and vote for their preferred candidate in the Srinagar Parliamentary constituency.
Meanwhile, the former minister called upon the people, especially PDF members, to cast their votes in support of Sajad Lone in Baramulla.
