Jammu, Mar 06: Ranbir Singh Pathania, the spokesperson for Bharatiya Janata Party, on Wednesday officially launched the Dalit Sampark Abhiyan, stressing the Modi government’s commitment to the upliftment and empowerment of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs).
In a spirited meeting of party cadres at Ramnagar, Pathania highlighted numerous initiatives and funds allocated by the government for the betterment of these marginalized sections of society.
The BJP spokesperson elaborated on the various initiatives undertaken by the Modi government to improve the socio-economic status of SCs in Jammu and Kashmir. “These initiatives include educational programs, healthcare provisions, housing schemes, and employment opportunities targeted specifically at SC communities. Financial assistance programs have been introduced to support entrepreneurship, skill development, and small-scale businesses among SCs,” he said.
Ranbir said efforts have also been made to enhance access to quality education for SC students through scholarships, tuition fee waivers, and educational infrastructure development in SC-dominated areas. “The government has implemented reservation policies and special recruitment drives to increase employment opportunities for SCs in both government and private sectors,” he said.
Modi government has encouraged political participation and representation of SCs in Jammu and Kashmir by providing opportunities for SC leaders to hold key positions in local governance and decision-making bodies, Pathania said. “As a result of these initiatives, there has been a noticeable improvement in the socio-economic conditions of SC communities in Jammu and Kashmir. Access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities has contributed significantly to the upliftment of SCs,” he added.
The BJP spokesperson also highlighted specific schemes such as the matriculation scholarship and the national overseas scholarship, which aim to provide financial support to SC students for their education. Additionally, the ‘Stand Up India’ scheme prioritizes entrepreneurs belonging to SC/ST communities in Jammu and Kashmir, further promoting economic empowerment.
The meeting was attended by various party leaders and cadres, including Kuldeep Sharma, Mohinder Singh Mandal Pardhan, Jattu Ram DDC Ramnagar-II, Mool Raj DDC Ramnagar-I, and Prof Sukham Chand, among others. The presence of these leaders underscores the party’s commitment to the welfare of SCs and STs in the region.
