Srinagar, April 29:  Panun Kashmir has intensified its mobilisation ahead of the May 11 rally in Jammu, under the leadership of organising secretary B.L. Kaul and general secretary Kuldeep Raina.

The campaign, marked by widespread outreach to community leaders, civil society and youth, seeks to assert the national, constitutional, and civilisational rights of the exiled Kashmiri Hindu community. At the rally’s core is the call for comprehensive reorganisation of the former state of Jammu and Kashmir. Panun Kashmir demands full statehood for the Jammu region to ensure political and administrative empowerment. Simultaneously, it insists on the creation of Panun Kashmir — a separate Union Territory east and north of the Jhelum — as envisioned in the 1991 Margdarshan Resolution, to enable dignified, secure and rights-based return of Kashmiri Hindus.

The rally also renews the call for a “Genocide Prevention and Punishment Law”, asserting that over three decades since the targeted killings, expulsions, and cultural erasure, India must legally and politically acknowledge the genocide of Hindus in Kashmir. Justice, Panun Kashmir insists, cannot be selective. In the current climate of heightened cross-border threats, the event will also stand in strong solidarity with India’s armed forces. “Our forces are not just defenders of borders but guardians of national honour,” said B.L. Kaul. Additionally, Panun Kashmir will raise concern over the arbitrary halt of monthly relief to displaced families, urging immediate restoration and enhancement, as promised by the Prime Minister. Relief, they stress, is a national obligation — not charity. The rally will also pay tribute to victims of the Pahalgam massacre and all martyrs who have upheld India’s unity through their sacrifice. Panun Kashmir calls upon all patriotic citizens, civil society, and democratic institutions to stand united. “This is not merely a rally; it is a national awakening,” said Kaul. “We seek return with rights, not mercy. Panun Kashmir is the only sustainable path to justice, truth, and a secure future in Kashmir.”
