In the tranquil town of Pampore, nestled in South Kashmir’s picturesque Pulwama district, Adil Ahmad Bhat stands as a beacon of hope, dedicated to nurturing the untapped potential of local youth.
Through his ground-breaking IT start-up, Dcode-Future, Adil has embarked on a mission to prepare young minds for the challenges of tomorrow. But his vision goes beyond just coding; it’s about empowerment and creating a brighter future for the region.
For the past three years, Dcode-Future has been the driving force behind Adil’s mission. Through this platform, he has conducted a series of free workshops in educational institutions and coaching centers, introducing students to the world of skills-based learning. The impact has been nothing short of remarkable, with over 30 workshops and three IT conferences benefiting more than 3500 students.
“These initiatives, fueled by the spirit of innovation, align seamlessly with the new education policy, which now mandates coding education for students starting as early as the 6th grade,” Adil said.
He maintains that Dcode-Future isn’t just about coding; it’s about opening doors to an expansive world of possibilities.
“The program has taken a pioneering role in guiding students from the 7th to 12th grades to develop coding skills, empowering them to craft code for applications and gaming programs. The demand for proficient youth, especially in fields like coding, programming, and development, is surging, both within India and on the global stage,” Adil said.
One remarkable success story that has emerged from Adil’s visionary initiative is that of Furqaan Zanoon. A graduate of Dcode-Future, Furqaan co-founded the innovative IT startup, Brisk Delivery. Recognizing a significant gap in the local market, Furqaan’s team addressed the absence of a home food delivery service.
Through an IT-based solution, they seamlessly connected prominent cafes and restaurants, enabling online orders for home delivery. This not only met a community need but also generated job opportunities, particularly in the delivery sector.
Furqaan’s journey stands as a testament to the transformative impact of Dcode-Future, where students not only gain knowledge but also the practical skills to shape their futures.
In a recent development, Adil has been appointed as the Program Manager for the Green Campus Program (GCP) in Kashmir. “Under this initiative, 130 campuses have already registered, and they are committed to taking actions aligned with certain Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to make their campuses more sustainable,” the young visionary said.
Adil’s commitment to environmental sustainability is further underscored by his status as a certified ‘Climate Reality Leader,’ having been trained by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and his International Organization, The Climate Reality Project, in 2019.
His work extends to organizations like the Earth Day Network (EDN) and the Wildlife Conservation Fund (WCF).Adil’s environmental activism has also received recognition, with his receipt of the ‘South Asian Youth Environment Network (SAYEN)’ award at the American Centre in 2015.
This honor showcased his dedication as he represented Jammu and Kashmir among 72 delegates from South Asia, including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan. His commitment to preserving the environment and advancing sustainable practices in his region remains unwavering.Beyond advocating for contemporary, quality education and environmental sustainability, Adil is an ardent promoter of sports. He currently owns Dcode Cricket Club and Dcode Football Club, working closely with different sporting associations to promote sports among students.
His involvement extends to international platforms, as he participated as a delegate during the 5th International Conference on Sustainable Education in New Delhi. In a region known for its natural beauty and cultural richness, Adil Ahmad Bhat is emerging as a transformative force.
He not only equips the youth with practical skills but also empowers them to be future leaders who can lead Kashmir into a more sustainable and technologically advanced era.
