After making efforts to normalise relations with China during the Kazan Summit, special representatives and foreign minister level meetings, India is facing another formidable challenge along the Eastern and North-Eastern Borders. In the previous editorials, the Rising Kashmir has underlined the challenges in terms of security concerns emanating from Bangladesh after the dethronement of the Sheikh Hasina government and her exile. With each passing day it has become quite clear that Bangladesh is being used as a fertile ground for patronising religious radicalism to alter the geo-political and geo-strategic calculus in India’s immediate neighbourhood. And in this stratagem Pakistan is extending its full support and using the radicalised Bangladesh as the new fertile ground for engineering subversion. The Rising Kashmir had previously analysed the Pakistani machinations to train Bangladeshi Army in February. It will be conducted in four cantonments in Bangladesh. To catalyse this move the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief Lt Gen Asim Mirza is visiting Dhaka. It is an open secret that ISI has been fomenting trouble for India for several decades now. Be it in Jammu and Kashmir or Punjab.Pakistan has used the strategy of inflicting thousands of cuts by imposing an asymmetric war on India. As the previous India-Pakistan wars have ended in debacles for Pakistan. So it has been indulging in acts of subversion to keep the conflict alive. Now the destabilised and undemocratic Bangladesh has offered another opportunity to Pakistan to indulge in acts of subversion against India. In Dhaka the ISI Chief has been received by Lt Gen Muhammad Faizur Rahman,Quarter Master General(QMG) of the Bangladesh Army.he is known for his good relations with the religious radicals and has an inclination towards Pakistan. ISI Chief’s visit is meant to devise the intelligence sharing mechanism between the agencies of the two countries. This move is being seen by the defence experts as an euphemism for indulging in subversive activities to destabilise India from the Eastern Front. It is proper to mention that the ISI Chief’s visit to Bangladesh has arranged after a leading Bangladesh Army general met Pakistan Army Chief Gen Syed Asim Munir in Islamabad.China is already a leading supplier of arms to Bangladesh and Pakistan and now the synergy of the two will surely create a new dynamics as far as the security situation on the Indian borders is concerned. Both China and Pakistan have been fomenting subversion aimed to engineer vivisection of India. Now the joining of Bangladesh in this Pakistan-China subversive club is a cause of concern. The policy adopted towards India after the downfall of the Sheikh Hasina government is belligerent and meant to take away Dhaka from the India bilateral orbit.Indian policy makers must internalise that Bangladesh is no more inclined to India and is working against the Indian interests in spite of the India’s friendly policy towards it. Persecution of the minorities and open war of words against India by the people at the helm of affairs in Bangladesh makes it clear that Bangladesh is treading a path that is akin to Pakistan. In other words,Bangladesh is now Pakistan in the East.It is doing everything that is antithesis of its freedom movement that it once launched against its oppressor-Pakistan in 1971.Thus,India is now facing two Pakistan’s on two fronts.Pakistan-Bangladesh nexus has emerged to destabilise India. In such a situation,India needs to re-evaluate its Bangladesh policy and nip any plan meant to destabilise India in the bud.In Jammu and Kashmir the New Delhi and the Jammu and Kashmir needs to be extra cautious. As Pakistan can utilise the Bangladeshi soil to re-ignite its subversive policies to create trouble in Jammu and Kashmir besides the rest of India.
