Over 6000 celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrated at Panchtarni

To commemorate 24 years of Kargil Victory, an event was organised at an altitude of approx 12000 ft in Panchtarni, wherein more than 6000 people including civil, security agencies, stakeholders and Shri AmarnathJi Yatris participated.

The day started with playing of National Anthem and unfurling of the Tricolour by Thakur Sher Singh JKAS, Camp Director Panchtarni, as everyone remembered the sacrifices of the soldiers during the Kargil War.

This was followed by a contingent of Officials, Indian Army 7 Para, ITBP, BSF, JK Police, NDRF, SDRF, Yatra Mitras, stakeholders, marching along with the ocean of Yatris upto the holy cave, and the National Flag leading them. Their josh was unwavering, as they raised slogans enroute Shri Amarnathji Yatra to express gratitude to the gallant soldiers and for their beloved land.

Patriotic songs being played on the PA System added to the fervour. Sweets were also distributed among the yatris.

Officials from civil and security agencies, including Col. Parminder Singh, CO, ITBP, Munish Anand SP JKP, Major Mohit, 7 Para, Naveen Kumar, AC BSF, Sajjad DYSP Security, Ins KC Roy NDRF, Vikram Singh NDRF, Ashwani Hansa, Rahul Sharma, Kuldeep Kumar, Daleep Kumar, Pankaj Sharma, Additional Camp Directors, Dr. Ashitam Wani I/c Base Hospital Panjtarni, Tufail Iqbal, Nodal Officer Sanitation, Irfan, Deputy Magistrate participated in the event. They were joined by the stakeholders, Langer Association, Tent Association, Sanitation Workers, Dandi Association, Pony Walas, Pithoo Walas, and Representatives of Heli Operators.
