Jammu, Feb 29: Apni Party Provincial President and former minister, S Manjit Singh on Thursday the party is committed to the welfare of the people irrespective of region, religion, caste, creed or other things.
“We have made a commitment with the people for their welfare and protection to their employment, land and jobs whereas the jobs would be reserved for the local population in their respective industrial areas for providing them employment in skilled as well as unskilled,” Singh said while conducting an extensive tour of the Vijaypur constituency and met different segments of society.
As per the press release, the former minister was accompanied by prominent people of Vijaypur visited different wards, and villages of the constituency to hear from them about the difficulties faced by them.
During his visit, he held a series of meetings and reached out to the people at their doorstep to hear about their problems regarding development, farmer’s issues, businessmen and other related issues in Vijaypur.
“The people have main concerns about the development and process of acquisition of land by the authorities without giving adequate compensation to the owners of the property that is required for the widening of the Jammu-Pathankot highway under the Expressway Project,” Singh said.
He said that Vijaypur is passing through a phase of transition due to the ongoing widening work of the highway that has snatched businesses, houses, and agricultural fields. “Had there been an elected government in J&K, the people would have been given adequate compensation for the land they handed over to the authorities for the highway widening,” he said, citing certain examples.
The Apni Party leader further said that the condition of interior roads in Vijaypur, and poor cleanliness and garbage collection are insufficient in the wards / residential areas as well as in the town and its surrounding areas. “The farmers and unemployed youth are among the worst sufferers due to the ill planning, and poor implementation of the schemes whether it is PMAY, cleanliness Vijaypur, addressing unemployment issues, farmer’s concern about electricity crisis, and canal water to the tail end villages, etc,” he added.
Singh demanded that the issues should be addressed immediately by holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir jointly with the parliamentary elections.
