Salman Sagar tours Hazratbal constituency
Srinagar, Feb 22: National Conference Provincial President Kashmir, Showkat Mir on Saturday said that under the leadership of Omar Abdullah, the J&K government is committed to freeing the people from bureaucratic red tape and holding officials accountable.
Mir made these remarks while meeting with the public and various delegations at the party headquarters. He highlighted the significant changes that have taken place since the democratically-elected government led by Omar Abdullah came into power.
“The government now views the people as citizens, not subjects, and is dedicated to addressing their concerns,” he said, adding, “The days of the power corridors being inaccessible to the common people are over, as individuals from all walks of life are now able to voice their issues at the secretariat.”
The NC leader further said, “The people of J&K are relieved to have their own elected representatives in the legislature and government.”
He assured that the government is fully aware of its responsibilities to the constituents and is actively working towards restoring statehood.
Mir mentioned that several initiatives have already been put into action, with more in the works to alleviate the suffering caused by previous non-NC governments.
Meanwhile, the Youth National Conference Provincial President and MLA Hazratbal on Saturday conducted an extensive tour of various areas in Gulab Bagh and addressed party workers.
During the visit, he was apprised of the issues faced by the locals and directed the concerned departments to expedite the resolution of their grievances at the earliest. He was accompanied by local party unit functionaries and officials from SMC, R&B, PDD, UEED, I&FC, Health and PHE.
