Thyroid glands make hormones that regulate our metabolism and are a part of many functions in our body. Too much (Hyperthyroidism) or too little (Hypothyroidism) production of these hormones creates an imbalance in our system. Women are more prone to thyroid dysfunction. 

  1. Eating balanced meals with whole grains, vegetables and adequate proteins is essential as thyroid diseases also increase the risk of CVD like Hypertension, increased cholesterol.
  2. As there is a risk of increased oxidative stress and inflammation, which also leads to a compromised immune system. Including a lot of antioxidant rich foods like fruits, vegetables will ensure protection.
  3. As these hormones affect metabolism, eating the right amount of food at the right time is very important for maintain body weight
  4. Exercising daily will help maintain weight and protect against the effects of Thyroid disorders in the long run.
