NC leadership pays tributes to Shaheed Ghulam Hassan Bhat

Srinagar, May 16: National Conference (NC) President, Dr Farooq Abdullah, along with Vice-President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, paid heartfelt tributes to the veteran party leader and former minister, Shaheed Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Qazigund, on the occasion of his martyrdom anniversary.
In a statement issued here, Dr Farooq, reflecting on the legacy of the late Bhat, said, “He was a true son of the soil who dedicated his life to serving the people. On this solemn anniversary, I extend my deepest tributes to him. I pray to the Almighty for peace for his soul. His sacrifice and unwavering commitment to our party and the people of this state will be remembered for generations to come.”
In his message, CM Omar said, “Late Bhat Sahib exemplified the principles of truth, courage, and peace, ultimately laying down his life for these ideals. On this day, I honour his memory with my heartfelt tributes.”
Among those who joined in paying homage were General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Treasurer Shami Oberoi, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Party MPs Mian Altaf Ahmad and Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, as well as senior leaders Sakina, Dr Bashir Veeri, Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, Altaf Ahmad Wani, Showkat Hussain Ganaie, Imran Nabi Dar, Showkat Ahmad Mir, and Sheikh Rafi, the statement said.
“Each of them expressed their profound respect and admiration for Shaheed Ghulam Hassan Bhat, ensuring that his legacy continues to inspire future generations,” it added.
