Jammu, Sept 25: Former Minister of Information and Broadcasting Smriti Irani delivered a rousing address during a public rally at Gadigarh, where she campaigned in support of BJP candidate from Jammu South-R.S. Pura, Dr. Narinder Singh. Irani emphasized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) landmark decision to scrap Article 370, calling it a historic move that reshaped Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape.
In a pointed attack on the National Conference (NC) and Congress, Irani accused the opposition parties of attempting to mislead voters by giving false hope regarding the potential restoration of Article 370. “Let me assure you that Article 370 is done and dusted forever,” she declared to the crowd, reinforcing the BJP’s firm stance on the matter.
She also highlighted the welfare initiatives introduced under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting that thousands of people in Jammu and Kashmir have benefitted from free ration and other government schemes.
During the event, senior BJP leader Sonam Deep Singh Aulakh rallied BJP supporters, likening each party worker to Chanakya, the ancient Indian strategist, saying, “BJP has lakhs of Chanakya, and we must vow to defeat Congress and its policies.”
Aulakh’s speech resonated with the audience, reinforcing the idea that BJP’s success in the region hinges on the unity and dedication of its cadres at all levels.
The rally, marked by enthusiastic participation, was a significant boost for BJP’s campaign in the region, as it seeks to consolidate support ahead of the elections.
DDC Geetu Aulakh, who praised the dedication of BJP workers and expressed confidence that the party would secure a resounding victory in the upcoming elections.
Senior BJP leader Rekha Mahajan also spoke at the rally, emphasizing the party’s commitment to the equitable development of all sections of society. “The pace of development has increased, and BJP has ensured that no one is left behind,”she said.
