Jammu, Aug 10: Natrang Theatre’s weekly Sunday Theatre series at Natrang Studio Theatre was filled with laughter and applause today as the group presented Balwant Gargi’s classic comedy ‘Kabab Mein Haddi’, directed by Neeraj Kant. The play’s witty storyline and hilarious situations kept the audience in splits throughout the performance.A statement issued here said that as the title suggests, the play revolves around an intruder disrupting the moments between two lovers. Naseem, a university student engaged to Jameela, struggles to find private time with her due to the strict rules of her girls’ hostel and the clingy presence of his overly attached friend, Safdar. On Friendship Day, the couple plans a rare outing together—only for Safdar to insist on tagging along. What follows is a series of comical interruptions, with Safdar’s uninvited concern sabotaging every intimate moment. While his intentions are genuine, his constant meddling leads to a cascade of funny, awkward and dramatic situations.The young Natrang actors brought the script to life with energy and precision. Aryan Sharma shone as the frustrated yet hopeful Naseem, Kartik Kumar’s Safdar was a perfect mix of innocence and annoyance, and Palshin Dutta portrayed Jameela with charm and restraint. Technical credits included lighting by Neeraj Kant, music by Kushal Bhat, and presentations by Adaksh Bagal. The performance reaffirmed Natrang’s commitment to delivering quality theatre every Sunday, keeping audiences entertained while showcasing young talent.
