Jammu, Dec 19: The mystery shrouding the sudden deaths in Badhaal village of Kotranka in Rajouri district of Jammu region will be unraveled within 2-3 days as the expert teams have screened all the 1800 villagers. The samples for testing have been sent outside and in various labs of J&K as well.
“Some samples taken from the villagers have been sent for testing outside J&K, while some samples are undergoing testing in different labs of J&K to ascertain the actual cause of the deaths in Rajouri,” Dr Harjeet Rai informed Rising Kashmir.
The reports are expected within 2-3 days, he said, while adding, “Once the reports are received, we will finally come to the conclusion about the exact cause of mysterious deaths in Rajouri”.
It may be mentioned that eight people have so far died due to unknown reasons in Rajouri. One more child undergoing treatment namely Ashfaq, s/o Mohd Rafiq, died on Wednesday taking the death toll to eight.
“Ashfaq, who was admitted in GMC-Jammu, was referred to PGI Chandigarh, but he died on the way,” Dr Harjeet Rai said.
It may be mentioned that seven people of two families died in Badhaal village in the Kotranka area of Rajouri district of Jammu early this month.
Meanwhile, the condition of one female admitted in GMC-Jammu is said to be stable. The Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and GMC Rajouri, had constituted a team of experts to investigate the exact cause of the deaths in Rajouri, which are being alleged due to food poisoning.
The expert team has been constituted by GMC-Jammu and GMC-Rajouri to find out the exact cause of deaths in Rajouri.
The expert team has been called from National Institute of Virology Pune, PGI Chandigarh and NCDC from Delhi, which has been investigating all the aspects into the deaths in Rajouri.
